Frequently Asked Questions
Marketplace Fundamentals
The objective is to help Job Seekers who struggle to get a job even after having the right skills. The platform connects Job Seekers with potential Referrers who are the people who can refer the Job Seekers for a relevant job opening. This increases the Job Seeker's chances of getting the job as his resume is directly shared with the hiring managers by the Referrer.
The platform doesn’t make any revenue unless the job seeker gets the job.
A Referrer is simply a person who can refer a Job Seeker (candidate looking for a job) for a job opening. Referrers can be any person working for an Australian Company, with the potential to refer a Job Seeker to this company (or any other company such as a previous employer or a company where Referrer has contacts).
The Referrer evaluates the Job Seeker to the best of his abilities before referring the Job Seeker for the job opening.
Referrers do not and cannot directly influence the outcome of the interview (or selection process), and they simply refer the candidate if found suitable for the job opening. Although a Referrer can discuss non-confidential and general information with the Job Seeker such as company culture, job profile requirements, and anything else that can help prepare for the interviews.
Can be anyone, but targeted towards, those who struggle to get a job, from existing means available in the market.
On this platform, a Job Seeker offers a Referral Incentive to a Referrer for a Successful Referral. “Successful Referral” means, that the Job Seeker gets the job in the company where the Referrer referred the Job Seeker.
On the marketplace, the Referrers publish the name of the company (or companies) where they can refer a Job Seeker. Optionally when Referrers come across a job opening in their company, then they can post that job on their profile, to connect with a relevant Job Seeker for a referral. These can be any job opening in the company or organization where a Referrer can refer a Job Seeker.
Optionally, if Job Seekers themselves come across a relevant job opening on the internet (e.g., on a job website or employer website), then the Job Seekers can look for a Referrer who can refer him/her to this company (in which the job opening is listed) and request a referral.
Of course not. That would be a waste of everyone’s time & effort. A Referrer is required to evaluate the Job Seeker to the best of his/her abilities and if Job Seeker’s profile is relevant to the job opening, only then should refer the Job Seeker.
Referring an irrelevant Job Seeker will only waste everyone’s time on the platform and even the time of an employer, because an irrelevant candidate will not be able to clear the interviews or the selection process that the employer might have.
Referrals are not a new concept. Most companies have a referral program where the company gives an incentive to an employee (Referrer) after a successful referral.
This platform provides an extension to this practice, by providing a marketplace of Referrers and Job Seekers where a Job Seeker pays an incentive to the Referrer for a successful referral.
A Referrer cannot refer a Job Seeker for a job opening without evaluating the Job Seeker first. This is the effort for which a Referrer receives a payment from the Job Seeker. This is the same effort for which a recruiter normally gets paid by an employer.
It should also be noted that this concept of payment by Job Seekers to a Referrer is unique on this platform in Australia. And only due to this concept is has become possible to create a marketplace for Referrals where Referrers are willing to refer Job Seekers that they don’t know personally. The increased number of referrers catalyzes the entire hiring process across the industry by putting candidates faster to the interviewer’s doorstep.
Some might argue against it saying that the Referrer might simply refer a Job Seeker just to get an incentive. However please note that referring undeserving or irrelevant Job Seekers by a Referrer to the hiring managers (or employer) will not yield positive results for either the Referrer or the Job Seeker and will be a waste of time from all parties involved. Additionally, we at JobReferred® believe that if a person has to exploit or abuse a system, then they will do it irrespective of the rules. For example, even in the case of internal job referral programs implemented by companies, an employee can refer an irrelevant candidate to the hiring managers or sometimes a friend’s friend who the employee doesn’t know personally. So ultimately it comes down to the selection process that ensures that the right candidate gets selected for the job.
Also, JobReferred® terms and conditions dictate that a Referrer cannot participate in a Referral if there is a conflict of interest i.e. if the Referrer is going to be part of the interview panel or can influence the interview outcome in any way.
The Referrer also cannot participate in a Referral if the company (in which the Job Seeker is being referred) has a policy that does not allow such referrals.
For a Job Seeker and a Referrer to participate on this platform. The first step is to create a relevant profile. A user can create a Job Seeker or Referrer or Both profiles depending on his/her circumstances.
Both these profiles need some minimum information that allows the Job Seeker or Referrer profile to be active and visible to the public. This allows users to find one another based on the filters provided on JobReferred®.
For the Job Seekers, they can ensure that all important information of their professional experience is listed in their public profile. Job Seekers can optionally add a default resume under their profile that they can optionally share with selected Referrers. If required Job Seekers can also share a custom resume with Referrers instead of the default resume.
For Referrer, they need to ensure that they provide details of the company where they can refer a Job Seeker. Optionally they can add any job opening that they are made aware of in the companies where they can refer a Job Seeker. Referrers can possibly take advantage of posting job openings that are not yet published on the internet and hence increase their chances of attracting a Job Seeker.
i) Following are some scenarios in which a Job Seeker can contact a Referrer to engage on this platform:
Scenario 1: Job Seeker finds a relevant job opening on the internet (e.g., on LinkedIn Jobs) in say company ABC Pty Ltd. Job Seekers then heads to JobReferred® to find a suitable Referrer.
- Job Seeker then visits JobReferred® and try to find a Referrer who can refer to ABC Pty Ltd.
- Job Seeker found a Referrer who can refer to ABC Pty Ltd.
- Job Seeker contacts the Referrer on JobReferred® by providing the details of the job and then request a referral.
- Job Seeker will also suggest an incentive that s/he is willing to pay if the Job Seeker gets the Job after being referred. This request expires if there is no activity for 30 days on this Referral Offer Request.
- Note that Job Seeker can send a request to multiple Referrer for different job openings without any restrictions.
- If Referrer is interested, then Referrer will evaluate the Job Seeker to ensure that the Job Seeker’s profile matches with the Job Opening and is hence is suitable for referral. The referrer can also negotiate the incentive that s/he would like to get from the Job Seeker if Job Seeker gets the job after being referred.
- Once both Job Seeker and Referrer are happy to proceed, then Referrer will send a Referral Offer to Job Seeker for his/her acceptance. This Referral Offer is an agreement between Job Seeker and Referrer for this referral and contains all agreed details of the referral.
- Job Seeker is required to deposit the amount in his/her JobReferred® marketplace account which is at least equal to the incentive amount before s/he can accept the Referral Offer. This amount is not yet given to Referrer and is kept securely with JobReferred®.
- Note that if Job Seeker has already deposited an incentive with JobReferred® and this is not yet paid to any Referrer or hasn’t been refunded back to the Job Seeker, then s/he doesn’t have to deposit the incentive again. This means that the same deposit can be used to accept multiple Referral Offers. This saves Job Seeker from the trouble of depositing an incentive for each and every Referral Offer that they are trying to pursue.
- Once Job Seeker deposits the amount and accepts the Referral Offer, Referrer shares the Job Seeker profile with the company for the discussed job opening.
- If Job Seeker gets the job, then s/he can release the referral incentive to the Referrer.
- At this point, all the other Referral Offers will get auto-closed assuming that Job Seeker has gotten the job and other Referral Offers are not required.
- However, if Job Seeker didn’t get the job or doesn’t want to proceed with the Referral offer for ANY REASON, then Job Seeker has the right to cancel the Referral Offer at any time. Once Referral Offer is canceled, the deposited incentive gets unlinked from this Referral Offer. Once the Incentive is not linked to any Referral Offer, then it can be refunded by the Job Seeker in full (except Transaction charges of 1.8% - 2.1% that were paid by the Job Seeker on top of the incentive amount).
Scenario 2: Job Seeker browses job openings listed by Referrers on JobReferred®.
- Referrers can optionally post jobs under their public profiles for which they can refer a suitable Job Seeker.
- A Job Seeker finds a relevant job opening, say in ABC Pty Ltd. Which is posted by a Referrer on JobReferred®
- Job Seeker contacts the Referrer on JobReferred® by selecting the particular job opening listed by the Referrer.
The rest of the steps (4 to 10) are the same as Scenario 1.
ii) Following are some scenarios in which a Referrer can contact a Job Seeker to engage on this platform:
Scenario 3: Referrer is aware of a job opening in the company where the s/he can refer a Job Seeker. Referrer then heads to JobReferred® to find a suitable Job Seeker.
- A Referrer can become aware of a job opening in the company irrespective of whether this job opening is listed anywhere on the internet or not. These job openings can potentially fall into hidden jobs categories.
- This Referrer then visits JobReferred® and finds a relevant Job Seeker as per the job description.
- Referrer contacts the Job Seeker on JobReferred® by providing the details of the job and requests to offer a referral.
- The Referrer will also suggest an incentive that s/he is willing to get from the Job Seeker if the Job Seeker gets the Job after being referred. This request expires if there is no activity for 30 days on this Referral Offer Request.
- Note that Referrer can send a request to multiple Job Seekers for this job openings without any restrictions.
- If Job Seeker is interested, then Referrer will evaluate Job Seeker to ensure that the Job Seeker’s profile matches with the Job Opening and is hence is suitable for referral. Job Seeker can also negotiate the incentive that s/he would like to pay to Referrer if Job Seeker gets the job after being referred.
Rest of the steps (6 to 10) are the same as Scenario 1.
Scenario 4: Referrer is aware of a job opening in the company where the s/he can refer a Job Seeker. Referrer then heads to JobReferred® and simply lists the job opening under his/her profile.
- A Referrer can become aware of a job opening in the company irrespective of whether this job opening is listed anywhere on the internet or not. These job openings can potentially fall into hidden jobs categories.
- If the Referrer couldn’t find any relevant Job Seeker on JobReferred® then s/he can simply list this job opening under his/her profile.
- If a Job Seeker comes across this job opening and finds it relevant, then s/he can contact the Referrer.
The rest of the steps (4 to 10) are the same as Scenario 1.
Referral Incentive is negotiable between Job Seeker and Referrer, but the minimum amount of Referral Incentive is $1000. A Job Seeker can accept a Referral Offer only if his JobReferred® marketplace account has a deposited amount equal to or greater than the Referral Incentive.
After Job Seeker accepts the Referral Offer, the Referrer refers the profile of Job Seeker to the hiring managers for the discussed job opening.
If the Job Seeker gets the job, then s/he can release the incentive to the Referrer, and it is paid from Job Seekers JobReferred® marketplace account to the Referrer’s bank account.
A Job Seeker can cancel a Referral Offer at any time without any conditions. Job Seeker has 100% control over the deposited money.
If Job Seeker doesn’t have any Accepted Referral Offer, then s/he can get a refund of the deposited amount. Note that a non-refundable transaction fee of 1.8% to 2.1 % is charged anytime Job Seeker deposits funds to his/her JobReferred® marketplace account.
Yes, a user can enable both roles (Job Seeker and Referrer). Typically, if a user is looking for a new job, s/he can enable the Job Seeker role. If a user is referring Job Seekers, then the Referrer role will need to be enabled. However, if a user can refer a Job Seeker to a company and at the same time is looking for a job, then this user can enable both roles and use the JobReferred® marketplace accordingly.
A Referral Offer is an Offer that a Referrer sends to a Job Seeker when after the Job Seeker and Referrer discuss and negotiate the details of the referral. A Referral Offer includes details of the Job Opening where the Referrer is referring the Job Seeker, it also includes details such as company name, Referral Incentive & company location.
A Referrer can alter the Referral Incentive amount of the Referral Offer until it is not accepted by the Job Seeker. Once the Job Seeker accepts the Referral Offer then no changes are permitted to this Referral Offer.
Both Referrer and Job Seeker agree to the terms and conditions of JobReferred® marketplace before accepting sending and accepting the Referral Offer respectively.
The range of Referral Incentive is between $1,000 to $10,000.
Once a Job Seeker gets the job, he needs to release the Referral Incentive 30 days after joining the job. Also, a Job Seeker cannot make payment within 7 days of accepting the Referral offer.
Note that JobReferred® has no way of knowing when the Job Seeker has successfully joined the new Job, so it is up to the Job Seeker to ensure that payment is made to the Referrer. A Referrer can remind the Job Seeker (using the provided controls on the Referral Offer) to release the Referral Incentive if the Referrer believes that Job Seeker has already joined the Job referred by him/her.
No. There is no dispute process. Job Seekers have 100% control over the deposited incentive. They can Refund is any time by canceling all Referral Offers (irrespective of the stage that the Referrer Offer is in).
However, when Job Seekers decide to Release Referral Incentive to a Referrer the funds are transferred from Job Seeker’s JobReferred® marketplace account to the Referrers bank. At that point, it is NOT possible for JobReferred® to refund the money, as it is beyond our control.
Practically, the only scenario that might be a reason for dispute between a Job Seeker and a Referrer is when the Job Seeker gets the job and then refuses to pay the Referrer. The chance of this happening is rare, due to the nature of this marketplace. It’s hard to imagine that a Job Seeker will refuse to pay the Referrer who helped him/her to get the job. Hence the marketplace doesn't facilitate any dispute process. Moreover, adding hurdles for Job Seekers to get a refund of their deposited amount, will adversely affect Job Seeker's confidence to participate in referrals, and ultimately will lead to a failure of the marketplace.
A Job Seeker can get a refund of the amount that s/he has deposited in their JobReferred® marketplace account at any time as long as the amount is not locked against an active Referral Offer. Note that transaction charges (1.8% - 2.1%) of the deposited amount are not refundable.
Once the Job Seeker release/pays the deposited incentive to the Referrer, then the incentive is transferred from Job Seeker’s JobReferred® marketplace account to Referrer’s bank instantly. When this happens, it is NOT possible for JobReferred® to provide a refund to Job Seeker.
- Open (Request, send from one user to another)
- Open (Referral Offer sent by Referrer to Job Seeker)
- Bonded (Referral Offer accepted by Job Seeker)
- Cancelled (Referral Offer canceled by any user)
- Completed (Referral Offer successful, and Payment released by Job Seeker)
Not at all. It must be noted that a Referrer is simply a person who can do an initial evaluation of the Job Seeker’s professional profile before referring to the hiring managers for the interview and selection process. They cannot influence or bypass the interview process in any way.
A Referrer should not be confused with the role of a Referee. Though it is obvious, but we would like to clearly state that on JobReferred® a Referrer is NOT a referee.
A “referee” in the context of job applications, is generally is someone who a potential employer can contact to find out more about the Job Seeker, his/her personality, experience etc., based on the referee’s relation with Job Seeker as a colleague or manager or other professional relations. So, a referee has nothing to do with this marketplace.
A Referrer cannot refer a Job Seeker in some cases. Following is not an exhaustive list but it gives you the idea.
- When Job Seeker has a conflict of interest in referring a Job Seeker for the job role, such as Referrer is going to be the hiring manager or can capability to influence the interview/selection process.
- When the company (where Referrer is referring the candidate) has specific terms and conditions or policies that restrict referral of candidates (Job Seekers) based on a commission/incentive paid by the candidate (Job Seeker).
- When Job Seeker’s profile does not match with the job description.
We do not restrict users from discussing (calling or emailing or chatting) outside the messaging tool provided from their JobReferred® logins. In fact, we understand that in most cases uses (Job Seekers and Referrer) will need to talk to each other to discuss the details of the job opening and negotiate Referral Incentive.
We do prefer the transactions to happen over JobReferred® so that payments are secured, safe, and recorded.
No joining or subscription or a hidden fee is charged to Job Seeker for using the JobReferred®.
When Job Seekers add funds (as per the Referral Incentive required to Accept the Referral Offer) a non-refundable transaction fee of 1.8% to 2.1% is added on top of the amount that the Job Seeker is adding to his/her JobReferred® marketplace account. This transaction fee is paid by JobReferred® to the payment gateway that processes the transactions securely.
Any time before Job Seeker releases the incentive to Referrer, the Job Seeker can request a refund which gets processed automatically into the original payment method.
No joining or subscription or a hidden fee is charged to Referrer for using JobReferred®.
When Referrers receive the incentive payment from the Job Seeker then 85% of that payment is transferred to the Referrer’s nominated bank account. The remaining 15% is the marketplace fee. This marketplace fee includes the amount that JobReferred® pays to the payment gateways for managing the transactions securely.
The end-to-end process is explained in FAQ à What is the end-to-end process between Job Seeker and Referrer for Referral. This FAQ also talks about how JobReferred® facilitates Job Seekers to tap into the hidden job markets.
In short, if a Referrer publishes a job opening under his/her profile, then this job can yet not be published on the internet (hence the name hidden job). For example, if a Developer is part of a company and one of the analysts in the team has resigned, then even if the job is not yet published on any Job Board on the company’s career page, this developer can post the job on JobReferred® and try to look for relevant Job Seeker that the developer can suggest to the hiring managers (that could be someone like a project manager or human resource manager or an IT manager who will responsible person for hiring a replacement of this test analyst). In such cases, the referred candidate has an advantage over other candidates who might be becoming aware of the job opening very late (after the job is published on the internet).
Yes. This ensures that only serious Job Seekers participate in the referral process, and hence the Referrers don’t waste their time in referring profiles/resumes of non-serious Job Seekers to their hiring managers.
A transaction fee of 1.8% to 2.1% is applied to the amount that Job Seeker adds to his JobReferred® marketplace account. This amount is NOT refundable. Apart from that entire amount is refundable as long as the amount is not linked to an active Referral Offer, or the Job Seeker hasn’t released the incentive to a Referrer.
Depending on Job Seeker’s bank, it can take 5-10 business days for the refunded amount to reflect on the credit/debit card statement.
No. Since the Incentive amount is automatically sent to Referrer’s bank account, it is not in our control to refund the amount.
Depending on Referrer’s bank, it can take 5-10 business days for the payment to reflect in the nominated bank account.
Job Seekers can release the deposited incentive to a Referrer only 7 days after accepting the Referral Offer.
There are two key differences:
1. JobReferred® provides a greater motivation to a Referrer to refer a Job Seeker. This is because the Referrers negotiate an incentive with Job Seeker themselves. Moreover, upon successful referral, the incentive is received within 30 days of getting the job.
2. JobReferred® provides a marketplace for Referrers and Jobseekers to discuss and negotiate a Referral and Referral Incentive, which allows unknown people to connect with each other for referrals, rather than the scenarios where Referrer only refer a known friend.
Once a Job Seeker contacts a Referrer, or once Referrer contacts the Job Seeker, a Referral Offer Request is automatically created. This is only a request from one user to another. After the discussion and negotiation between these two users, Referrer can send a Referral Offer (using the provided controls) to the Job Seeker. Referral Offer ensures that Job Seeker and Referrer have agreed to the terms and conditions of the JobReferred®.
Up until Job Seeker has not Accepted the Referral Offer (sent by the Referrer), the Referral Incentive can be discussed and negotiated.
Once Job Seeker accepts the Referral Offer, then the Referral Incentive for that Referral Offer cannot be updated. However, if for any reason Job Seeker (or Referrer) are not happy to proceed with the referral then either of them can cancel the Referral Offer.
If a Referral Offer is successful and the Job Seeker releases/pays the Referral Incentive to the Referrer, then any other open Referral Offers (that the Job Seeker might be discussing with other Referrers) will get auto-cancelled. That way the other Referrer will know that the Job Seeker already got a Job and is pursuing other Referral Offers.
As per JobReferred® terms and conditions assumes that all users are individuals. This means that a user with Referrer Role is also an individual, rather than a business.
Between Job Seeker and Referrer:
In terms of invoicing, a Referral Offer is between a Job Seeker and a Referrer. When Job Seeker pays an incentive to Referrer, the market sends an email invoice on behalf of Referrer.
Since the Referrer is assumed to be an individual, this invoice does NOT add any additional GST.
Between Referrer and JobReferred® (Marketplace):
In terms of invoicing, JobReferred® only passes on 85% of the Referral Incentive that is paid by Job Seeker to the Referrer. This is because 15% of the Referral Incentive is the marketplace fee. JobReferred® sends an email invoice to the Referrer. Note that this marketplace fee taken by JobReferred® includes GST and Stripe® fee.
Job Seeker Profile
Minimum details required for Job Seeker profile to be published are:
- Profile Headline & Summary
- Work Authorization in Australia
- At least one job experience (current or past company)
- Job Preference (Notice Period, Preferred Industry, Preferred Work Type)
- Maximum Referral Incentive
Additionally, the Job Seeker needs to verify email and mobile number for security purposes.
In this section, Job Seekers define a maximum incentive that s/he would “like” to offer to a Referrer for a successful referral (where Job Seeker gets the job). This is not the amount that Job Seekers need to pay for a successful referral, but just an indication of Job Seeker’s “budget”. This helps the Referrers filter Job Seekers as per their expectations of the Referral incentive.
Yes, the Job Seeker profile is not published until the email is verified.
The user profiles and marketplace functionality are deeply integrated with the user email. Hence it is not possible to change the email.
Mobile number is verified to discourage individual users to have multiple accounts on JobReferred®. The mobile number is not shared with anyone.
Yes. However, the Job Seeker will need to verify the new mobile number again.
The following details are not published to any users:
- Email Address
- Phone Number
- Postcode
Resume (if added). Job Seeker has the option to share a resume with Referrer once Job Seeker contact Referrer or vice versa.
No. It is optional to add and share a resume by a Job Seeker. Normally when a Job Seeker is in contact with Referrer, then Job Seeker will have the option to either share the default resume (that Job Seeker can upload from the Seeker Dashboard) with the referrer or upload a custom resume (specific to the Referral Offer) from Referral Offer itself.
We understand that resumes can contain sensitive private information such as email address, mobile number, and address, hence we don’t make the resumes public at all.
Contacting Referrers for Referral Offer
Yes. If a Job Seeker finds a Referrer who can refer him/her to the employer/company in which s/he found the job on an external website, then this Job Seeker can contact Referrer, and make the Referrer aware of this job and discuss the referral.
No. If a user only has his/her Job Seeker profile enabled, then this Job Seeker can only contact users who are Referrers.
Referrers can optionally list a job opening once they become aware of it. Sometimes Referrers proactively try to find Job Seekers for the job opening instead of listing it on their profile.
Yes. The platform allows Referrers to find Job Seekers by using various search filters.
Once a Job Seeker contacts the Referrer, then the Referrers need to enable messaging so that Job Seeker can send more messages. This feature ensures that the Job Seeker does not spam the Referrer.
Yes, that is the idea. A Referrer will need to ensure (to the best of their ability) that the Job Seeker’s profile matches with the job opening for which Referrer is referring the Job Seeker.
A Referrer evaluates the Job Seeker before agreeing to refer the Job Seeker for a job opening. During the evaluation, a Job Seeker can ask for details of the company, job role, company culture, job description related details, and similar non-confidential and non-sensitive details that can help better prepare the Job Seeker for the interviews. As per JobReferred® terms and conditions, a Referrer cannot referrer a Job Seeker for a job opening in where the Referrer has a conflict of interest or if the Referrer can influence the outcome of the interview or selection process in any way.
Yes, a Job Seeker can contact multiple Referrers if required for a different or same job opening. However, note that eventually, a Job Seeker will make payment to only one Referrer if a referral is successful (i.e., Job Seeker gets the job where s/he was referred to).
Can Job Seeker share a different resume with Referrer, than the one added in the Job Seeker profile?
Yes. Job Seekers can either share the default resume that they add to their Job Seeker profile. OR they can send a different resume to the Referrer while discussing the referral.
Payments - Job Seeker
Why is a Job Seeker asked to deposit funds to the marketplace before Referral Offer can be accepted?
This is required to ensure that the Job Seeker is serious about the referral. Hence a Referrer can confidently refer the Job Seeker’s profile to hiring managers, without worrying about wasting anyone’s time.
Yes. Job Seekers fully control if they want to get a refund of the Referral Incentive amount deposited in their JobReferred® marketplace account. Only the transaction fee is not refunded which is 1.8% to 2.1% of the amount that Job Seeker wants to deposit.
A Job Seeker can cancel all the Referral Offers that are in the “Bonded” state (i.e., Referral Offers which are accepted by Job Seeker) to unlock the Referral incentive. Once the deposited amount is unlocked, it can be refunded in the original payment method once requested from the payment dashboard of your marketplace account.
No. It is not possible for JobReferred® to refund the amount once Job Seeker has released/paid the amount to Referrer. This is due to the fact that the Referral Incentive is automatically paid to Referrer’s bank account.
We calculate the transaction charges as per the amount charged by our payment gateway (Stripe®). We do not charge any additional transaction fee on top of what we pay to Stripe®. As of 2021 stripe fee on domestic (Australian) credit/debit cards is 1.75% + A$0.30. Additionally, 2 cents are charged for Stripe® Radar services to ensure fraud protection.
Now since JobReferred® allows Job Seekers to add from $100 to $10,000 from their payment dashboard, the net transaction fee comes between 1.8% to 2.1% of the amount being added.
No. We do not store or have access to user credit/debit cards or bank details. These are stored with Stripe® which is our payment gateway.
No. The amount is kept in a client money account that does not earn any interest.
For depositing Referral Incentive, only Domestic Credit or Debit cards are accepted.
No. Only domestic cards are allowed.
No. for example, if Job Seeker is trying to accept 5 Referral Offers that have a Referral Incentive of $2000, then Job Seeker only needs to deposit $2000 once to be able to accept all these 5 Referral Offers.
If after that Job Seeker is trying to accept another (6th) Referral Offer with Referral Incentive of $2300, then Job Seeker will need to deposit another $300, to be able to accept this 6th Referral Offer.
All Payment and transaction details are in the user's Payment Dashboard under Accounts Menu.
For most situations, the answer is yes. However, it's important to check with your accountant; individual tax situations can vary, and the answer may not always be the same. However, as a rule, ATO assesses if the expenses are considered to be incurred in gaining or producing your employment (assessable) income.
Total Available Funds = Unblocked Amount + Blocked Amount.
Unblocked Amount is the amount that the Job Seeker is deposited but is not locked against any Referral Offer and hence can be refunded by Job Seeker.
For example, a Job Seeker has deposited $2000, to accept 2 Referral Offers. First Referral Offers with Incentive of $1500 and Second Referral Offer with Incentive of $2000. At this stage, Job Seeker will have $0 Unblocked Amount and $2000 Blocked Amount.
Later, if Job Seeker cancels the Second Referral Offer, then Job Seeker will have $500 Unblocked Amount and $1500 Blocked Amount.
Referrer Profile
Minimum details required for Referrer profile to be published is:
- At least one referral company (in which Referrer can refer the Job Seeker)
Note that email and mobile numbers are NOT made public. Additionally, the Job Seeker needs to verify email and mobile number for security purposes.
Yes. A Referrer can optionally list job openings under their profile from their Referrer Dashboard.
Yes, the Referrer profile is not published until the email is verified.
Mobile number is verified to discourage individual users to have multiple accounts on JobReferred®. The mobile number is not shared with anyone.
Yes. However, you will need to verify your number again.
In this section, the Referrer defines a minimum incentive that s/he would “like” to get from a Job Seeker for a successful referral (where Job Seeker gets the job). This is not the amount that Referrer will surely get for a successful referral, but just an indication of the Referrer’s "expectations" of Referral Incentive. This helps the Seekers filter Referrers as per their Referral Incentive budget.
Yes. By default, the expiry is 30 days for a listed job opening, however, it can be changed from Referrer Dashboard and can be edited later if required by Referrer. Note that expired jobs are not listed publicly. Referrer receives email notification once a listed job opening expires.
Yes. Referrers specify details of the company(ies) where they can refer a Job Seeker. For each of these companies, the Referrer can define a Minimum (expected) Referral Incentive they want to receive from Job Seeker for a successful referral.
Once Referrer and Job Seeker are in contact, they can negotiate the Referral Incentive for individual Referral Offer.
Yes. Each company where a Referrer can refer is an individual location. If Referrer wants to refer Job Seekers to a company with say 2 locations, then Referrer needs to add 2 separate entries under Referrer Dashboard.
The user profiles and marketplace functionality is deeply integrated with the user email. Hence it is not possible to change the email.
Mobile number is verified to discourage individual users to have multiple accounts on JobReferred®. The mobile number is not shared with anyone.
Yes. However, Referrer will need to verify the new mobile number again.
Contacting Job Seeker for Referral Offer
If Referrer is not aware of any job opening, then it is best to only publish the details of the company where you can refer a candidate for any relevant job opening. In that case Job Seekers (once they find about a job opening in that company anywhere on the internet) can contact the Referrer and request for referral.
No. If a user only has his/her Referrer profile enabled, then this Referrer can only contact users who are Job Seekers.
Once a Referrer contacts the Job Seeker, then the Job Seeker needs to enable messaging so that Referrer can send more messages. This feature ensures that Referrer does not spam the Job Seeker.
Yes. A Job Seeker needs to get the information about the role (irrespective of whether the Job Seeker found the job opening on an external website or on JobReferred® posted by a Referrer). The Referrer should not disclose any information that can compromise the integrity of the selection/interview process that the Job Seeker will undergo after referral.
If the Referral Offer is for the job that Referrer has listed under his/her profile, then while updating the Referral Offer, Referrer can only update the Referral Incentive.
However, if the Referral Offer is for the job that was listed during the contact form (that is not listed under Referrer profile), then while updating the Referral Offer, Referrer can edit most of the details of the Referral Offer.
Yes, a Referrer can contact multiple Job Seekers and send Referral Offer for a Job Opening.
Payments - Referrer
Before a Referrer can send a Referral Offer to a Job Seeker, s/he needs to complete the payment account setup. This ensures that when a Job Seekers releases/pays Referral Incentive to the Referrer, the amount can be transferred to Referrer’s nominated bank account automatically.
